FACILITIES

Felstead Court

Based on Lambourn’s desirable Folly Road, Felstead Court Stables is a picturesque 38-box yard that is perfect for training horses.

As well as boasting an owners’ suite, staff canteen, extensive office space and tack room, it also includes sizeable barn and fodder storage, on-site facilities for vets, a top-of-the-range, covered Claydon horsewalker and turn-out paddocks across the 3.5 acres the yard sits on.Each stable has a raised roof to circulate air, which helps horses remain healthy and also assists with hygiene, while heat lamps keep the string warm and comfortable in colder temperatures. Situated close to Lambourn’s historic grass gallops, which now include a number of all-weather alternatives, schooling grounds and are managed by the Jockey Club, Felstead Court Stables is blessed with its location just eight and ten miles from the idyllic market towns of Wantage and Hungerford, while it is close to Newbury racecourse as well. A number of other tracks are also within reach as is Heathrow, which is just under an hour away.

Jockey Club Gallops

The Lambourn Training Grounds use the natural gradients of the Berkshire Downs to good advantage, providing an array of facilities for the training of both Flat and National Hunt horses.

The majority of the facilities are located on Mandown, 550 acres of downland owned by Jockey Club Estates and situated to the north of Upper Lambourn village.
